Whether you are a Catholic visiting Busan, a traveler looking for a quiet place to pray, a young pilgrim preparing for WYD Seoul 2027, a foreign resident in Busan, or someone visiting a Catholic church in Korea for the first time, you are welcome here.

Namcheon Cathedral Parish is the Cathedral Parish of the Catholic Diocese of Busan. It is both a cathedral connected to the life of the diocese and a living parish community where people gather for Mass, prayer, service, and fellowship.

The parish was founded in 1979 and is dedicated to Saint Paul Jeong Ha-sang, a lay leader and martyr of the early Korean Catholic Church. Through its liturgy, history, community, and service, Namcheon Cathedral Parish carries the faith and witness of the Korean Catholic Church in the city of Busan.

Most regular liturgies at Namcheon Cathedral Parish are celebrated in Korean. Even if you do not speak Korean, you are welcome to join us for prayer and Mass. This English section is designed to help visitors find the basic information they may need before coming to the parish.

Please respect the sacred atmosphere of the cathedral, especially during Mass, confession, funerals, weddings, and other liturgies.

WYD Seoul 2027

WYD Seoul 2027 will bring many young Catholics and pilgrims to Korea. Before the main gathering in Seoul, participants may spend time in local dioceses through Days in the Dioceses. As the Cathedral Parish of the Diocese of Busan, Namcheon Cathedral Parish hopes to offer a clear and welcoming first point of information for visitors and young pilgrims who may come to Busan.
